AEQ - Río Negro Television - Xpeak

The Chilean Río Negro Television upgrades its flagship mobile unit with the Xpeak intercom system and new Xplorer Max wireless beltpack from AEQ, which allows the production company to optimize its daily operations, improve the flexibility of working outdoors and facilitate the interconnection between cameras and control units.

Since it was founded in year 2001 with a strong journalistic and technological character, the Chilean company Rio Negro Television has been evolving from a fixed studio operation towards an agile production with mobile units capable of covering different scenarios. In this line of growth and modernization, the entity, specialized in the generation of content, has taken a new step with the renewal of its intercom system, trusting in the technology of AEQ to continue improving the quality and efficiency of its productions both in the studio and outdoors.

Specifically, the production company has decided to incorporate the system Xpeak, a compact and flexible solution that enables professional communication without the need for a central matrix. The installed system includes different intercom panels, wireless terminals and accessories of the Xpeak system, completed with antennas, interfaces and connection and power elements that guarantee optimal operation.

Among the equipment, the new wireless beltpack stands out especially AEQ Xplorer Max, which offers great autonomy, high quality audio and extended coverage thanks to its IP connectivity. This tool provides freedom of movement to technical and production personnel, thus adapting to dynamic work environments such as mobile units or sets with a large operating surface. Compatible with Coverage areas up to 700m in a straight line with up to 20 packs working on a single antenna, there is the option to expand the work area by interconnecting up to 4 antennas in the same network.

As explained Elias Figueroa, director of the technical and operations area of Río Negro Television, the AEQ system provides “technology and rapid implementation without the need for a matrix,” just “what we were looking for.” "Being a plug and play system, it facilitated a quick transition and operational flexibility. We have rackable panels, desktop panels, wired beltpacks and also the Xplorer Max wireless system, which allows us a lot of mobility and cover large spaces without having to use cables. In addition, the XPEAK_IF interface and its 4W outputs is a great complement to link with the camera CCUs," he emphasizes.
