Gestmusic prepares a new musical reality show for RTVE: 'Aria, crazy about opera'
RTVE has presented 'Aria, crazy about opera', a new talent show produced in collaboration with Gestmusic which will offer ten lyrical singers the unique opportunity to find a place in the demanding world of opera.
Presented by Ruth Lorenzo, accompanied by Juanjo Bona in the backstage, Aria, crazy about opera will consist of four galas e interpreters with a solid musical training who will seek to become an opera singer. The permanent jury will be composed of three great professionals from the world of music: the soprano Isabella King, the tenor Jose Manuel Zapata and the orchestra director Virginia Martínez. They will be joined by a secret judge, whose identity will only be revealed at the final gala. The program will feature the participation of the orchestra Franz Schubert Philharmonic, directed by Tomàs Grau.
Aria, crazy about opera It is an original format created by the Netherlands production company Medialane. Three seasons have been broadcast on the Dutch public broadcaster NPO1 and a fourth is prepared. The Spanish one is the first international adaptation and is produced by RTVE in collaboration with Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia). In the presentation of the program, Tinet Rubira, director of Gestmusic, has highlighted the “spectacular set” of the format.
The program will offer solo and group performances of the best-known arias and is aimed at a wide audience: from opera lovers to those approaching the lyrical genre for the first time. Additionally, you will have a didactic approach and fresh: the public will discover the stories behind the great arias with the help of the actor, pianist and content creator Mario Marzo, who will make a personal introduction to each work. Highlights will also participate spanish singers outside the operatic universe, who will perform very popular pieces adapted to the lyric.
The Franz Schubert Philharmonic will adapt the most popular arias, as well as pieces from other musical genres. It is an orchestra built from Spanish talent, with musicians trained in the best conservatories in the country and perfected internationally. Tomás Grau He is its founder, musical and artistic director. Consolidated as a prominent figure on the international symphonic scene, he has been invited to conduct orchestras such as Tokyo Philharmonic, Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra or Royal Bangkok Symphony Orchestra, among many others.
