Studiocube's new VP studio integrates LaON's Genie intercom system
The Genie wired and wireless intercom system from LaON structures the communications of Studio V, the new virtualized production set of the South Korean company StudioCube.
StudioCube is a public production infrastructure created in 2017 by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korean Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) to support the development of the Korean broadcasting and video content industry. It is about the largest facility in the country: it works 365 days a year and has five studies medium to large in size, including Studio A, measuring 3,755 m², and a multi-purpose aquatic studio for indoor aquatic shoots, plus a full-tube chromatic screen for special effects and various ancillary facilities. Many movies and shows have been filmed at this facility, including The squid game of Netflix.
The newly opened virtual studio has been built in the Study V and is equipped with the Genie de LaOn system, including a base station BS1000, three rack key panels GRP8, three desktop key panels GDP4, six remote antennas, a repeater y 20 wireless beltpacks. Genie It integrates wired and wireless intercom system with a single base station, while offering multi-channel connections and scalability.
According to LaON, StudioCube has selected Genie for its “efficiency and flexibility” in the design of a intercom system with a simple configuration. Additionally, all wireless beltpacks can connect to any wireless antenna, including a base station, without limiting the number of connections per antenna, making it highly efficient for deploying wireless antennas within facilities.
Miyoun Park, sales director at LaON Technology, says that it has been “fantastic” to be part of this “incredible project”, which has involved “supporting an entire intercom communication system and the solutions necessary for virtual studio workflows.”
