PROA 2025 - Audiovisual Impulse Award - EMAV

PROA, the Federation of Audiovisual Production Companies, grants its 2025 recognition to the Audiovisual Promotion to School of Audiovisual Media of Barcelona (EMAV), in an evening in which the best producers of the year from each of the associations that make up the federation have also been recognized.

The night started with a welcome speech from the president of the federation, Ferran Cera, who highlighted the key role of production companies as a driving force of culture and the audiovisual industry. In his speech, he highlighted key data such as 264 associates of the federation, who are the unavoidable driving force of the 8,636 million euros from 41,000 jobs generated by the audiovisual sector annually. Furthermore, Cera wanted to fix his gaze on 2026 listing the most imminent challenges of the sector: "the improvement of the framework with the CCMA, approval of the Cinema Law with tax incentives of up to 50%, promotion of the Catalan audiovisual law and reinforcement of RTVE's commitment to Catalonia, with more production in Catalan and the promotion of La2Cat. The final objective: to grow the turnover of the audiovisual sector."

In this 2025 edition, PROA has awarded its Audiovisual Promotion award to the School of Audiovisual Media of Barcelona (EMAV) for being a backbone institution that combines public educational quality, technological excellence and a historic impact on the industry. This award is intended to be a recognition of the oldest image and sound center in Spain, which “has managed to maintain its relevance and quality for more than half a century.”

In its more than fifty years of history, EMAV has trained 12,000 professionals, many of whom occupy key positions in the Catalan industry, ensuring generational change. Particularly relevant is also its function as a public school, which guarantees fair access to high-quality, high-tech training and key professions in the audiovisual sector for all citizens. “PROA wants to reward the commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in the management of the school and its effort to maintain a curricular project and facilities with a high technological level, guaranteeing that the know-how of Catalonia remains at the international forefront,” stated the federation.
