The producer Marina García López, awarded the “El Ojo Crítico” 2025 Award

The cultural format 'The Critical Eye' of National Radio of Spain has awarded in the film category to the Madrid producer Marina García López, a professional who, according to the jury, always opts for “exceptional, risky and committed” projects in a “careful and meticulous” way.

The decision of the XXXVI edition of this award highlights Marina Garcia Lopez for being “a restless woman who seeks to express herself from different cultural spheres, such as curating exhibitions, and who always commits to team, collective and collaborative work in the audiovisual industry”. Según el fallo, “premiar a una productora también es premiar a los cineastas a los que apoya”.

“Se trata de una labor, a menudo invisibilizada, pero imprescindible para poner en pie proyectos tan complejos como ‘Ciudad sin sueño’, la película de Guillermo Galoe que ha impulsado desde su productora ‘Sintagma Films’. Una cinta compleja, llena de personajes que rebosan vida y luz, y que acerca, gracias a una mirada única, a la realidad social que se vive en La Cañada Real de Madrid”, ha comentado el jurado de los premios, conformado por Esther Garcia, productora de El Deseo; el guionista Eduard Sola, ganador de la edición anterior; Julieta Martialay, directora de la revista Fotogramas, y Jara Yáñez, directora de la revista Caimán Cuadernos de cine. Junto a ellos, también han participado en la deliberación Laura Martínez Ruibal y Ángeles Caso, directoras y presentadoras de The Critical Eye; Conxita Casanovas, periodista de RNE especializada en cine, directora del programa Va de cine de Radio 5 y Ràdio 4 de RNE y Yolanda Flores, periodista de RNE especializada en cine, directora y presentadora del programa Movie de RNE.

The 2025 'El Ojo Crítico' Awards recognize in this new edition 10 young talents who are marking the culture of our country. The award for digital innovation in the cultural field (Albert.DATA), a category released this year, is already known, as well as the award for dance (La Venidera), the comic (Irene Márquez), the Visual Arts (Cristina Mejías) and the Theater (María San Miguel). In the coming weeks, the winners of the Classical Music, Modern Music, Narrative and Poetry categories will be announced.
