3Cat combines humor and the “Catalan bestiary” in ‘Departament Amades’

The Terrace (The Mediapro Studio) signs the six-episode series 'Departament Amades' for 3Cat, a “complex comedy” that seeks to combine the Catalan bestiary and the “legends of the country” with a political and loving background.

Beloved department tells the story of a division unknown and underfunded of the Generalitat located in a gray office. Dependent of the Department of Folklore and Traditions, has the objective of disseminating customs, making an inventory of legends, cataloging the festive imagination and helping to preserve it. At least, apparently: in reality, it is a covert agency that keeps at bay the fantastic characters of Catalan folklore that live among us, such as “water women, witches or minairons”.

This series, with an original idea and script by Julia Cot y Jordi Lopez, and directed by Edgar Lledó, will bet on a episodic format which will be accompanied by subplots that will structure the entire season with of the great centered arches in the survival of the department and a love triangle. Anna Moliner stars in the series as Dolça, the passionate team leader. He will tandem with Xenia, a brilliant student played by Paula Jornet. Kike Garcia plays the character of a minairó who is in charge of carrying out any type of task that no one wants to do.

The gentleman Arnau (Joan Negrié) will be in charge of directing the department and dealing with the Minister of Culture (Ivan Labanda) and an implacable Minister of the Interior played by Mercè Arànega. The series will also feature special appearances, such as the former contestant of Euphoria Alexia Pascual, or those of Judith Martín, Óscar Dalmau, Nao Albet or Berto Romero.
