NBC Sports will use frame rate conversion, routing and orchestration technologies. Grass Valley for production in Italy in order to offer viewers live coverage of the Milan-Cortina 2026 Games on all platforms.

NBC Sports has selected Grass Valley to provide advanced broadcast solutions. infrastructure, routing, orchestration and frequency conversion of frames for their production of the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, which will be held from February 6 to 22 and March 6 to 15, respectively.

Since Milan and Cortina, Italy, are in the same time zone as Paris, France, the programming plan for the 2026 Winter Games will be similar to NBCUniversal's coverage of last year's Summer Games.

The opening ceremony from Milan's San Siro stadium will be broadcast live on Friday, February 6 on NBC and Peacock. NBCUniversal is presenting its 20th Olympic Games, its 13th in a row, and owns the United States broadcast rights on all platforms for all Olympic Games through 2036, which are scheduled for Milan Cortina (2026), Los Angeles (2028), French Alps (2030), Brisbane (2032), Utah (2034), and the 2036 Olympic Games (venue to be determined).

Las Grass Valley solutions will be implemented on site in Italy, at the NBC Sports facilities in Stamford, Connecticut, and in the 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, which will help the broadcaster convey the excitement of Italy to viewers watching coverage of the Games in the United States.
