Gravity Media implements remote production for daily formats at ITV Studios in London
Gravity Media installs a remote realization control to support programming of ITV Studios MultiStory Media in its new facilities in Covent Garden (London). The solution will allow the production and broadcast of 900 hours of daily live programming each year in three flagship programs: 'Lorraine', 'This Morning' and 'Loose Women'.
The new study has a 360 degree set with LED walls Designed for quick changes between programs. The production has been built with the sustainability as the central hub: a single, high-performance remote gallery produces and broadcasts the three daily live programs, as well as additional productions outside of MultiStory Media's broadcast, significantly reducing the need for on-site infrastructure and travel.
Remote production infrastructure includes approximately 45,000 meters of video, audio, SMPTE, data and fiber cabling, which supports 13 racks of technical equipment. Gravity Media's remote production service uses technologies from fiber, satellite, broadband and mobile networks of high bandwidth and low latency to transmit the images in real time to Gravity Media's production center in White City, where the engineering, editing and creative teams enhance the content for final delivery.
A project in two phases
Phase 2 of the project, which will be launched at the end of 2026, will add advanced graphics and finishing capabilities, which will allow ITV audiences to be offered even more premium and visually attractive broadcasts.
Kate Rendle, global sales director at Gravity Media, points out that "remote production allows us to deliver the broadcast quality that ITV audiences expect, while reducing environmental impact and operational costs. By centralizing production, we can manage multiple live broadcasts, maintain high technical standards and provide greater resilience to daily live production."
