ST 2110 and now IPMX: Cobalt turns to NAB 2026, opening the door to all aspects of IP
New autonomous processors, native IPMX audio monitoring and a wide variety of ST 2110 multiviewers, gateways and mini converters confirm the commitment of Cobalt Digital for building bridges between SDI and IP in NAB 2026 (April 19 -22).
Among the news of Cobalt Looking ahead to the American event, it stands out BlueCore, a family of stand-alone signal processors 1RU which will be detailed in depth in the preludes to the appointment. What the brand has advanced are the new ST 2110 and IPMX output options for software defined decoder Cobalt Pacific ULL-DEC. The enhancement, which allows decoded content to be available simultaneously via SDI and ST 2110/IPMX, will be accompanied by a DVB-S/S2 demodulator option installed at the factory that enables decoding and pass-through satellite signals, both in ASI and over IP.
Furthermore, to respond to the requirements of a FCC which requires that the rest of the C band spectrum, Cobalt has added support for the hybrid operation of satellite-Internet to the Pacific compression line, in accordance with the standard VSR TR-06-4 Part 7. In this way, while the satellite is used for mass distribution, the Internet is used to recover any lost packages, which allows the use of bandas Ku y Ka for distribution.
IPMX: first steps in Cobalt
Supporting the open standard IPMX, Cobalt presents the audio monitor Aria Aud-Mon. Designed for any environment you are in migrating towards IP-based operations, offers sound monitoring and measurement of 16 SDI o 64 MADI in a compact rack-mount format. The sound is produced by a class D amplifier with DSP, while its touchscreen front panel has been designed to provide easy operation with eight individual volume controls for the mixture.
From an audio perspective, Cobalt will also highlight the 9935-AUD4-DANTE, a four-channel device with up to 12G DANTE/AES/MADI and embed y de-embed with frame sync capabilities. The card has two ports Gigabit Ethernet, a 64x64 configuration and a complete audio mixer-router.
Again in the IPMX, the turnkey routing solution Cobalt UltraBlue MV-SW Multiviewer is updated to receive IPMX support for transition to ST 2110 or IPMX workflows, just like gateway solutions Cobalt Indigo, interface that joins ST 2110 and SDI IP streams, now with IPMX support. Likewise, the company will show several Sapphire stand-alone mini converters, prepared to convert between IMPX and SMPTE ST 2110 signals, and SDI/HDMI.
