Starfish adapts TS Splicer to cloud, hybrid and on-prem environments at NAB 2026
NAB 2026 (April 19 – 22) hosts the premiere of new versions of TS Splicer (Win and K8) and a new control panel, solutions Starfish aimed at making the processing of multimedia streams easier.
Flow compatible MPEG-2, H.264 y HEVC/H.265 in SD, HD and UHD, and suitable to adopt input protection SMPTE 2022-7, the software TS splicer presents a wide range of functionalities such as clean switching of live signals, the ad replacement, the replacement of regional programs, he SCTE-35 processing and the logo insertion. Facing NAB 2026, the solution will release new versions designed to adapt your deployment no just to infrastructure locales, but also hybrid or cloud.
Starfish transport stream processing is offered as a suite of software applications running on servers Windows, like TS Splicer (Win), or in environments Kubernetes as TS Splicer (K8). The system provides access to a range of configurable options, which can be activated or deactivated remotely as operational needs change. This approach allows systems to be expanded or adapted without the need for reinstall or replace the underlying platform. Likewise, the system can be integrated with different security systems. automation, control and monitoring through a API REST.
Along with updates to Splicer, Starfish will present its new control panel, which provides a unified view of running services and system status. This approach helps engineering teams monitor distributed environments more efficiently and respond quickly to operational changes.
Peter Blatchford, marketing director of Starfish Technologies, highlights the brand's proposition, which relies on the versatility of the software to adapt to the needs of broadcasters: "Our customers want transport flow processing that is easy to implement, simple to manage and flexible enough to evolve. By installing the software once and enabling functions as needed, operators can add and remove features quickly and easily. In combination with the new control panel, it provides them with both control and visibility of all their services."
