Sandisk expands its range of CFexpress cards to accommodate 6K, 8K and 12K workflows
The new generation of Extreme Pro CFexpress 4.0 Type B cards and an updated version of its Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-II V60 and V90 cards arrive at NAB 2026 (April 19 – 22, Las Vegas), an event in which SanDisk shows off its latest storage solutions.
As the production workflows move towards capture 6K, 8K and six cups of bits, storage demands are geared toward higher capacities, sustained performance, and fewer interruptions on set. SanDisk responds to these new needs with Extreme Pro CFexpress 4.0 Tipo B.
The new card offers read speeds of up to 3700MB/s and writing up 3500MB/s, with sustained performance designed for high bitrate video capture. With capacities of up to 4 TB, this solution available in June allows long recording sessions and high-speed capture with a resolution of up to 12K.
On the other hand, the cards SanDisk Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-II V90, now available, support 8K video and high-speed capture, with capacities up to 2 TB. A single 2TB card can store more than 1,118 minutes of 8K video at 30 fps. This card now offers read speeds of up to 310 MB/s and write speeds of up to 305 MB/s, with capacities ranging from 512 GB to 2 TB.
The SanDisk news is completed with the Extreme Pro SDXC UHS-II V60, a range that goes from 256 GB to 2TB aimed at “prosumers” and professionals who capture video of up to 6K y high resolution photographs. The family now supports read speeds of up to 300 MB/s writing and 250 MB/s, allowing longer recording sessions without continuous card changes. The solution will also be available in June.
