Gaudí's life will be reflected in a biopic

Onza, Methos Media y Film Factory They produce a still untitled feature film that will tell the life of the famous architect Antoni Gaudí with Alejandro Monteverde as director and screenwriter.

The story of Antoni Gaudi, Catalan architect internationally known for transforming the urban landscape of Barcelona, inspired by the shapes of nature, will be reflected in a film that will seek to delve into its evolution technical, vital and spiritual. Alejandro Monteverde He takes charge of this project to show how he went from being a young man integrated into high society to becoming a man of deep faith and an austere life, completely dedicated to the construction of the Sagrada Familia.

Known for his success Sound of Freedom (2023), an American film that grossed more than $250 million worldwide, ranking tenth among the highest-grossing films of 2023 in the United States and number one in Mexico, Colombia and Peru, Monteverde faces a new challenge in his entire career, which also includes films such as Little Boy (2015) o Bella (2006). "For me, Gaudí was a challenger to the architecture of his time. But to truly understand Gaudí, you have to understand the inner battles that shaped his vision. Therefore, more than a biography of his life, this film is a biography of his soul. Just as he found inspiration in the geometry of nature, I am attracted to the geometry of his spirit: the invisible forces that shaped one of the most extraordinary creative minds in history," said the film-maker about the protagonist of his next film.

The film will have a “big budget” for its production, in which Onza, Methos Media and Film Factory (Gastón Pavlovich's production company), known for titles such as The Irishman (2019), which accumulated an estimated budget of 250 million. Pavlovich has acknowledged that “it is an honor and great pleasure to participate with Gonzalo and the Onza team as well as Alejandro and Leo in this project.” In this sense, the Mexican producer has highlighted that “telling a story about the great Gaudí in the context of the official inauguration of his masterpiece is nothing less than inspiring.”
