IPMX - Ethernet

The headquarters of the EBU Geneva hosts from August 24 to 28 the second edition of the IPMX product testing and certification event, an initiative organized by AIMS, VSF and the European Broadcasting Union itself, with which manufacturers will be able to certify the capabilities of their solutions in the new open IP transport standard.

IPMX is defined as a set of open standards and specifications designed to bring cloud-based media transport ST 2110 and control based on NMOS to a broader range of markets, including professional audiovisual sector, live events, corporate media, education and other areas. Starting from the base of 48 certified products from 11 manufacturers Presented at ISE 2026, the certification program continues to evolve with new capabilities that respond to the practical requirements of the implemented systems.

The event will allow processes to be certified within the IPMX standard such as Host Key Exchange Protocol (HKEP) and the management of HDCP for protected content. Likewise, developers will be able to test the security layer of the Privacy Encryption Protocol (PEP), which allows the interoperable content encryption in multi-vendor implementations.

The Geneva certification event will be preceded by a hands-on interoperability session scheduled for July 20-24 at the Matrox Video in Montreal, Canada. This appointment, exclusive for AIMS members, will allow you to practical tests of new IPMX developments prior to the formal certification event, thus continuing the pre-certification interoperability work model that has proven effective throughout the entire IPMX program.

Recine himself, chair of the IPMX Pro AV working group at AIMS, considers the Geneva event a key event in the standard development calendar: “The August event is where we will take the next steps, expanding the base of certified products and validating the capabilities that integrators and end users have been requesting since the certification was launched. Each event builds on the previous one, and the impulse we observe on the part of the member companies reflects real confidence in the direction that IPMX is taking.”
