Panasonic brings IP to its AV-UHS500 switcher via an NDI I/F unit

The 松下 AV-UHS500 compact live switcher now supports IP transmission via 是 and NDI HX thanks to the new AV-UHS5M6G NDI I/F unit.

Once the unit is installed on the back of the AV-UHS550, this new development from Panasonic allows the use of 是和 NDI HZ IP transmission protocols, in addition to conventional baseband systems, without the need for external converters. The new NDI I/F device aims to reduce set-up time 和 facilitate remote live video production, especially in temporary venues and event spaces. Naturally, the solution is compatible with Panasonic’s NDI cameras, enabling video transmission, camera control and tally output operations using a single LAN cable.

The launch will be accompanied by new software arriving at the end of March 2022. The development recreates the AV-UHS500 control panel as a PC/MAC application, extending the scope of video production by enabling remote switching via mouse or touch commands, thus allowing multiple operators to work together。

According to Panasonic, these improvements in network functionality allow both video streaming and camera operation to “pave the way” for the creation of new ways of working in which live streaming can take place without camera operators or staff stepping foot on the production site.
