Jaume Peral, new director of TV3

The Governing Council of the Catalan Corporation of Audiovisuals Mitjans (CCMA), at the proposal of its president, Brauli Duart, has appointed Jaume Peral as the new director of TV3.
Peral (Figueras, 1960) has a degree in Information Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Until now he has been the director of TV3's News Services, a task he has carried out since 2012, where he has promoted an important renovation that has resulted in clear and sustained leadership of TV3's news programming.
Jaume Peral's professional career is above all linked to the media of the Corporació Catalana de Mitjans Audiovisuals (CCMA). His beginnings were in Girona, as an editor for Radio Cadena, and as a correspondent for the EFE agency and Radio Nacional de España. He then joined the Catalunya Ràdio team, first as a delegate in Girona, from where he moved to the Madrid editorial team.
Between 1993 and 1995 he directed the Economy, Society and Politics sections of both Catalunya Ràdio and Catalunya Informació. In 1995 he assumed the deputy director of News and three years later he was appointed head of the News Services of Catalunya Ràdio and head of Catalunya Informació under whose direction he received an Ondas award.
In 2005 he joined Televisió de Catalunya as communications director.
Jaume Peral will take over as director of TV3 from Eugeni Sallent, who has carried out this responsibility since 2012.
