Sallent has been appointed, without any vote against, at the proposal of the President of the Council, Brauli Duart, thus replacing Mònica Terribas at the head of the Catalan autonomous community.

This Wednesday, the Governing Council of the Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation (CCMA) appointed Eugeni Sallent i Garriga as the new director of Televisió de Catalunya. Sallent has been appointed, without any vote against, at the proposal of the president of the Council, Brauli Duart. The new director replaces Mònica Terribas.

Eugeni Sallent (Sabadell, 1962) has a degree in Computer Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona and a master's degree in Business Management from the School of Senior Management and Administration (EADA). Between 1994 and 1995 he was an information systems consultant at the Generalitat Computer Center. In 1995 he joined the Catalunya Ràdio Station Group as manager, a position he held until 1999.

Since 1999 he has been general director of Radiocat XXI, a Godó Group company that manages the stations RAC 1 and RAC 105. Since 2010 he has also been president of the television production company Nova Veranda.

From 2003 to 2010 he chaired the Catalan Radio Association (ACR), which integrates private commercial stations in Catalonia.

In 2010 he received the III Quim Regàs Journalism Prize, in recognition of his professional career.
