A total of 127 short films from 17 countries, all of them entirely recorded and post-produced in 4K, have been registered for the third edition of the contest.

Hispasat 4K 2017A total of 127 short films from 17 different countries have been registered in the third edition of the Hispasat 4K International Festival, which represents an increase of close to 26% compared to 2016. These data confirm the progressive increase in audiovisual creation in 4K and the expansion of this innovative technology. The call was open to works produced after January 1, 2015, of any nationality and genre, with a maximum duration of 25 minutes and that have been entirely recorded and post-produced in 4K format.

Short films have been received from Germany, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Spain, United States, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Mexico, Peru, United Kingdom, Russia and Switzerland. International representation has also increased, 33 shorts compared to 15 in 2016, which represents 26% of the total works registered, confirming the progressive internationalization of the festival. Another relevant fact is that 28% of the works received have been directed by women.

The awards gala will take place on October 19 at the Círculo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, one of the cultural emblems of the capital.
