The Christie LW650 projector, one of the brightest single-lamp WXGA 3LCD projectors on the market, will be unveiled at NAB'09. The projector's new native WXGA (1366 x 800) resolution provides a widescreen image for full compatibility with the latest laptops and monitors. Frank Anzures, Christie's product manager, highlights the new projector as offering a full suite of premium features, including extensive optics shifting capability. It is designed to ensure performance, flexibility and ease of use with Pro AV features, allowing the installer and customer to easily integrate it into an existing network of projectors.”

Compact and affordable, with inorganic panels for long life, the Christie LW650 LCD projector delivers a powerful 6,500 ANSI lumens and a 2,500:1 contrast ratio for deep, rich blacks and high brightness. It features 10-bit image processing that reproduces more than 1.07 million colors and offers higher grayscale rendering as well as smooth, artifact-free images.

The Christie LW650 projector is ideal for high-quality presentations such as video conferencing, museum installations, houses of worship, and rental applications. Thanks to its high brightness, it is very suitable for large conference rooms and medium-sized auditoriums. The new projector's Silent Mode operates at a low noise level of 32dBA, for quiet, non-intrusive performance, allowing for fewer distractions during meetings.

The Christie LW650 projector is available with up to six optional lenses, with more lenses coming soon, including an ultra-short throw lens. The Lens Memory feature, which is available on select lenses, allows the user to quickly save and memorize up to three lens positions, including shift, focus and zoom settings.

Great flexibility

A key feature of the Christie LW650 projector is its large optics shifting capability, making it the industry's most flexible 3LCD projector for fixed installations or events. Christie's advancements in optics shift technology allow the projector to be installed in difficult locations without the need for additional digital corrections to position the image in the center of the screen. The large optical shift capacity is capable of shifting the image vertically by 85% of the screen height and horizontally by 60% of the screen width, spanning a total range of up to 3.3 screen areas vertically and up to 2.2 screen areas horizontally.

Additionally, Picture-by-Picture split-screen mode allows the user to view multiple video or data images simultaneously using the wide format display, a feature that is ideal for video conferencing. The projector also allows video viewing at close range (depending on optics), a feature required by the education and government markets. It has a complete connectivity package for digital, computer and video connections via HDMI. It also includes the Network Bridge function to connect and control a network of projectors. Other advanced security features include a security bar, Kensington™ lock option and additional menu security options.
