The new range of hybrid encoders transforms analogue signals to IP, allowing customers to move from analogue to IP without having to replace their existing security infrastructure.

sony_sntSony Professional has launched a new series of encoders for the video surveillance sector capable of converting analog signals to IP, allowing customers to move from analog to IP without having to replace their existing security infrastructure. The new network video encoders range from the basic one-channel model SNT-EX101 to the 12-blade, 48-channel rack-mount model SNT-RS3U.

The full range of encoders can dually transmit images from 30 frames per second up to full D1 resolution in JPEG/H.264, JPEG/MPEG4 or MPEG4/H.264 configurations. This enables much easier integration when migrating from the existing analog camera system to an IP-based system, thus eliminating the need to replace existing security infrastructure.

In addition, the use of a network video compatible interface (ONVIF) makes integration and compatibility with other network video products possible, regardless of their manufacturer. In addition, integration possibilities are enhanced, so Sony hopes that this will lead to the transition from analog to IP formats within a market that is still 70% analog.

The new encoders incorporate significant advanced features. Intelligent motion detection, the ability to detect video loss and compatibility with PTZ cameras will improve management of the most demanding application environments, from schools, transportation, factories, healthcare facilities, to public areas and airports.
