Eiken and EiTB: The Script Space

The Audiovisual Cluster of Euskadi Eiken and EiTB have launched the project called 'Gidoi Faktoria / The Script Space' with the aim of training expert screenwriters.

The Audiovisual Cluster of Euskadi and Basque public television have launched An interesting initiative is underway to train expert scriptwriters who can offer their services to the audiovisual production environment, thus filling the current gap in this matter in the television market. The program, which will be taught at the EITB headquarters in Bilbao starting in November 2009, will consist of four independent training modules that, together, will total 350 teaching hours and will provide a tour of the qualifications and training that every screenwriter should know. In this sense, participants will study and learn in depth about the television medium, the fundamentals and tools of the script and its applications in different genres such as fiction and entertainment.

In addition, students must prepare a final project and will have the possibility of doing an internship (approximately 250 hours) in one of the collaborating production companies of 'Gidoi Faktoria / El Espacio del Guión', advised at all times by a tutor. Upon completion of the complete program, participants will obtain the title of “Expert Screenwriter” issued by Eiken and EiTB.

This innovative project is aimed at 20 people who meet the following profile: university students or students from training centers linked to audiovisual; professionals from the sector or other related sectors, and all those people who are interested in developing their professional career in the world of scriptwriting.

In addition, those professionals who wish to do so may carry out any of the modules independently, upon payment of the corresponding registration fee. The registration cost for the complete itinerary is 4,800 euros/person with the possibility of payment in installments

In parallel to the training program, five short monographic courses or workshops (10-15 hours) will be organized open to the participation of all professionals who wish to do so. The maximum capacity for these courses will be 50 people, of which 3 will be students of the full program. Also within the framework of this initiative, Eiken and EiTB plan to hold conferences, conferences and sessions once or twice a year on topics of interest related to the world of scriptwriting in which the most relevant professionals in the sector will participate.
