The Vitoria TV and Radio Festival chooses the best products of the season

23-F: the most difficult day of the King, one of the award-winning productions at the Vitoria-Gasteiz TV and Radio Festival
A committee of television experts, brought together by the Vitoria-Gasteiz Television and Radio Festival, has chosen the most outstanding products and professionals from the last television season. Ramón Colom, contributor to the magazine Frames; José Javier Esparza, analyst The Mail; Juan Cruz, television expert The Country; Víctor Amela, usual signature of The Vanguard; Rosa Belmonte, from the newspaper ABC; Pepe Colubi, linked to the Prisa Group; Francisco Andrés Gallardo, from the Joly Group; Cipriano Torres, belonging to the Prensa Ibérica group; and the web Vertele, have been in charge of choosing the names of the winners of the “Passion of Critics 2009” award.
In the “Revelation” category, the jury wanted to highlight Samanta Villar, presenter of the program 21 Días, broadcast by Cuatro. The miniseries 23-F: the King's most difficult day, which viewers were able to follow through the first TVE channel, has been considered by experts to be the winner of the “Interesting” category, while the program Nui Girl, from TVE's La 2, has become the most “Funny” product of the season.
The analysts have also decided to award the program Callejeros, by Cuatro, in the “Current” category, as the product that has best reflected current events. Finally, the series Doctor Mateo, from Antena3, and Red Eagle, from TVE, have been
won with the awards for “Best Comedy” and “Best Dramatic Series”, respectively.
The “Pasión de Críticos 2009” awards will be presented at the closing ceremony of the Vitoria-Gasteiz Television and Radio Festival, which will take place on September 5 at the Teatro Principal Antzokia. During the same gala, the 2009 Joan Ramón Mainat Awards will also be presented. The night will begin with a tribute to Mainat in which friends of the cathodic creator will participate, such as his brother and partner Josep María Mainat, his partner Toni Cruz and the presenters Javier Sardá, Ángel Llácer and Boris Izaguirre, among others. During the course of the evening, tribute will also be paid to María Teresa Campos.
