Starting today, CBS will include a campaign in the North American magazine Entertainment Weekly in which a chip and a mini screen of just 2.7 millimeters will play promotional videos for the network's new fall season.

CBS Anuncio en vídeoWell yes, as incredible as the video that jumped from television to the Internet may seem, it is now preparing its assault on paper! Starting today, the North American network CBS will insert a video in Entertainment Weekly magazine on one of its advertising pages. To make this possible, the magazine will include in each issue a chip manufactured by Americhip, in which the video file that can last up to 40 minutes has been memorized, a protected liquid crystal screen (according to CBS sources, although it could actually be an OLED) with polycarbonate with a thickness that does not reach 3 millimeters and a resolution of 320x240, and a tiny battery that provides an autonomy of up to 70 minutes, rechargeable by a mini USB.

The video will show an ad for Pepsi (Pepsi Max), sponsor of this advertising initiative, and a preview of CBS programming until this fall. The special video insert will only be carried out by Entertainment Weekly to its readers in the Los Angeles and New York areas with a planned circulation of approximately one hundred thousand copies. Taking into account that, according to consumer industry sources, this operation would cost less than seven figures, each insertion could cost up to $10. A disconcerting figure given that a traditional advertisement in this Time Warner publication is around 9 cents per copy.
