The Andalusian audiovisual protagonist today in San Sebastián
For the fourth consecutive year, the event has hosted the Andalusian Audiovisual Day organized by the Andalucía Film Commission, with the participation of the two producer associations, AEPAA-APRIA and PECAA and with the sponsorship and participation of RTVA and the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía.
The Andalusian audiovisual sector has been the protagonist today, Sunday, at the San Sebastián Film Festival. For the fourth consecutive year, the event has hosted the Andalusian Audiovisual Day organized by the Andalucía Film Commission, with the participation of the two producer associations, AEPAA-APRIA and PECAA and with the sponsorship and participation of RTVA and the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía.
Throughout the day, SILE (Sevilla International Locations Expo), the first European edition of the locations fair, was presented. SILE is organized by the Seville City Council through the Association for the Foreign Promotion of Seville and has the collaboration of the Andalusia Film Commission and the Seville Film Office.
Eduardo Corcuera, general director of the Foreign Promotion Office of the Seville City Council, has confirmed that SILE will be held from November 5 to 8, coinciding with the Seville European Film Festival (November 6-14). SILE will have 2,500 square meters and 50 international exhibitors who will be accompanied by producers from their respective countries. Conferences, forums and round tables will be held regarding regulations for filming, subsidies, co-production and aid
Subsequently, Gustavo Fuentes, manager of ADSAT, presented the “Mobile Connection” prototype, designed by the University of Seville and the aforementioned company, which consists of a virtual mobile unit.
One more year, the Radio Television of Andalusia (RTVA) has not been missing either. Ricardo Llorca, head of external production and co-production, has presented the film together with producer Manuel Gómez Cardeña of Promico Imagen. Me too. The public agency participates in the production of this film that will premiere on the 23rd at the San Sebastián Festival, within the official competition section. It is a Basque-Andalusian co-production in which Julio Medem participates. Me too is a story of improvement inspired by the own life of its protagonist, Pablo Pineda, the first European university graduate, with Down Syndrome. Llorca has commented that the RTVA's film participation, in the 2008/2009 biennium, has involved an investment of 7 million euros. They have produced 13 feature films, some of them will premiere at the upcoming Seville and Huelva Festivals; 7 TV movies, 23 creation documentaries and 3 animated feature films.
The event was attended by festival directors, businessmen and producers from the Andalusian audiovisual sector, specialized press and professionals who are attending the San Sebastian Festival these days.
Durante todo el Festival, Andalucía Film Commission, cuenta con un stand denominado Andalucía Films & TV en la Sales Office, que permite a los empresarios andaluces confeccionar su agenda de contactos de reuniones para posibles coproducciones, promocionar sus productos y proyectos, etc.
The Film Cities Network has actively participated in the day, in particular Carmona FO, Marbella FO, Seville FO, Comarca de Guadix FO, Archidona FO, Niger FO, Ubrique FO, Malaga FO, Córdoba FO, Almeria FO, Antequera FO, Marchena FO, Conil FO.
The film festivals present at the San Roque event have been: Huelva Ibero-American Film Festival, Seville European Film Festival, Malaga Spanish Film Festival, Archidona Cinema, Almería en Corto, Alcances, Granada Cines del Sur Festival, Islantilla Festival, Tarifa African Film Festival and San Roque Festival.
