The programming takes place from February 2 to May 10, 2016 at the headquarters of the Euro-Arab Foundation for Higher Studies with the screening of a selection of fiction and documentary films along with short films, which represents the important audiovisual production of the Andalusian film industry.

VII The Andalusian Audiovisual Exhibition in Granada

The Andalusian Audiovisual Exhibition reaches its VII Edition in Granada. A consolidated event among the city's cultural proposals promoted by the Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia, the Euro-Arab Foundation for Higher Studies, the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the University of Granada, the Center for Contemporary Culture of the University of Granada, the Film Library of Andalusia, the Festival of Young Directors of Granada and Asfaan.

The presentation event was attended by May Silva Ortega, director of the Audiovisual Foundation of Andalusia; Inmaculada Marrero, executive secretary of the Euro-Arab Foundation; Francisco Javier Gómez Pérez, professor of the Audiovisual Communication Degree at the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the University of Granada; and Ricardo Anguita Cantero, director of the Center for Contemporary Culture of the University of Granada.

This year the Exhibition is held from February 2 to May 10, 2016 at the headquarters of the Euro-Arab Foundation for Higher Studies. Throughout fifteen sessions, which take place every Tuesday at 6 pm, a selection of fiction and documentary films will be screened along with short films, which represents the important audiovisual production of the Andalusian film industry, a strategic sector of our economy that contributes to technological advancement and job creation.

The Exhibition is aimed at the general public, and the young and university public in particular, providing them with access to these Andalusian products in a continuous and structured way, and therefore offering the possibility of exhibiting them through this strategy for the dissemination of Andalusian works until now non-existent in our Community.

Feature films, documentaries and short films

The Andalusian Audiovisual Exhibition in Granada is made up of 31 titles, of which fifteen are documentaries, twelve short films and four feature films. Among them are films recognized on the Spanish scene such as Cannibal, by Manuel Martín Cuenca, shown at the San Sebastián International Film Festival or the Toronto International Film Festival, and filmed in Granada; either The Extraordinary Tale, by Laura Alvea, José F. Ortuño, with awards from the London Film Festival, Festival du Film Espagnol de Toulouse or Madrid de Cine; either Patuchas, the man of a thousand lemons, 2nd Imagenera Prize 2014.

Each session is completed with the exhibition of short films, a format that, due to its duration and quality, acquires more relevance each year among the public and that, thanks to the Exhibition, can be seen on the big screen. The creations that will be exhibited have achieved recognition in their careers at national and international festivals, such as About Ndugu, Woman and Water o my right eye.

It is worth highlighting the presence of Arabic-themed films in the program: The Moroccan labyrinth, Katí Fund: Witness of the Iberian exile in Timbuktu, The lights of Defalé o Al-Mariya, Gate of the Levant.
