After almost two years of work and an investment of 3,000 million euros, Sharp launches its plant in Sakai (Japan) from which it will manufacture 13 million 40-inch LCDs per year.

Complejo de Sharp en Sakai (Japón)Five months ahead of schedule, the multinational Sharp has just completed the civil works of its new industrial complex located in the Japanese city of Sakai. When this center, which occupies 127 hectares, is at full capacity, 13 million 40-inch LCDs will come out of it every year. The investment in this complex has been around 3,000 million euros, with a significant amount also dedicated to R&D for the manufacture of large format LCD panels based on tenth generation glass substrates, which are 70% larger than those that have been used until now in the Sharp industrial complex in Kameyama.
