Telegenic will integrate BSkyB's first 3D unit
The first 3D mobile unit of the English operator BSkyB will be integrated by Telegenic and will have seven camera units on rigs developed by 3ality, two Sony SRW-5800 VTRs, four EVS servers for replays and a Vizrt system for graphics... all with a stereoscopic option.
In its race to become the first operator with regular 3D broadcasts, the British BSkyB has already commissioned Telegenic to integrate its first mobile unit for stereographic production. The unit will have seven chains of cameras mounted on rigs with a solution developed by the North American 3ality.
Although the space in the truck will be distributed in a similar way to a conventional unit, it should be noted that the BSkyB engineering department has reserved a space so that the stereographers can have tools for precision plane adjustment and stereographic synchronization that ensure that the high-definition images emitted for both eyes are perfectly adjusted. This area will integrate the stereographic image control developed by 3ality, which governs the processing of the signal sent by the cameras.
BSkyB's first 3D unit will also feature Calec audio solutions, two Sony SRW-5800 VTRs, four EVS replay servers and a Vizrt graphics system.
