Snell CVR800 and TBS800: convert HD formats and standards with one click

Included in the Kudos Plus product line, Snell launches two converters capable of changing the format or HD standard easily and quickly, including support for 3Gbps operations and composite video inputs and outputs.

Snell has announced the launch of the CVR800 and TBS800, two new rack converters for HD standards and formats included in its Kudos Plus product line. The CVR800 allows format and frame-rate conversion, while the TBS800 converts the format by synchronizing both, including support for 3Gbps and composite video outputs and inputs.

Paola Hobson, product manager at Snell, commented that both innovations provide a wide set of tools that give operators greater control over the final video output, since "these systems have features designed to help broadcasters perform specific tasks in a much simpler and more efficient way, obtaining the exact result they are looking for after conversion, starting from a wide range of audio and video inputs and outputs, providing great flexibility in the workflow."

The CVR800 offers adaptive frame-rate switching and format conversion (up/down/cross) while the TBS800 provides adaptive format conversion and synchronization for 3Gbps, HD and SD. The system includes a series of linear and non-linear tools for full control such as adjustment of horizontal and vertical attributes during format conversion, being able to separate graphic layers such as logos or banners from the image itself to preserve maximum quality.
