Nike chooses Madrid to shoot its new international campaign
In the filming of the spot, which will be broadcast coinciding with the next World Cup in South Africa in mid-June, Ovide BS has collaborated with equipment such as a Thomson Grass Valley LDK 400 or the SD Link XPR digital radio links.
The sportswear firm Nike has chosen Madrid as the setting for part of its new global advertising campaign. The plot of the spot is still unknown but what they have made public is that it will be broadcast during the next World Cup in South Africa that will begin on June 11.
Alejandro González Iñárritu, director of films such as Babel, 21 grams o Dog loves, directs the advertisement that will star great athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo (Real Madrid), Robinho (Santos de Brazil), Fabio Cannavaro (Juventus), Didier Drogba (Chelsea), KlassJan Huntelaar (AC Milan) and Wesley Sneijder (Inter Milan).
To take the shots, the technical team relied on the equipment and services of Ovide B.S. using Thomson Grass Valley LDK 400 cameras, SD Link XPR digital radio links and technical support from the rental company.
The Mexican director together with the director of photography Rodrigo Prieto began filming on January 28 at the Valle de las Cañas sports center (Pozuelo de Alarcón) with the soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo as the main actor.
After filming a few scenes in the building where the Real Madrid basketball team regularly trains, the team moved to the Leganés football field to create the creative concept “Cristiano Ronaldo stadium”.
On February 22, filming continued outside the Capitol cinema on Madrid's Gran Vía. A red carpet and a swarm of actors representing paparazzi were waiting for the limousine from which Cristiano Ronaldo emerged dressed in an immaculate black tuxedo.
Although the plot of the advertisement is kept under lock and key and after the continuous change of filming locations, one of the producers stated: "We can only say that it will be long, it will have a story of several shots and we don't even know which ones we will definitively include in the spot."
On February 23, filming moved to the Picasso Studios to film some shots with the constant Bobby Solo, considered by many the Italian “Elvis Presley”, due to the resemblance of his voice and the style of his hairstyle to the King of Rock'n Roll.
