Contrary to recent news that has recently appeared in some media, Paramount Pictures denies that it has any plans or commitment to develop a theme park or film studios in Spanish territory.

Through a press release issued today, Paramount Pictures Spain has flatly denied that it currently has "any plans or commitment to develop a Paramount studios theme park or production services studios in Spanish territory, more specifically in the region of Murcia, as has been heard lately in various media outlets."

This information has occurred in recent weeks after a conversation that the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Murcian community, Pedro Alberto Cruz, had in the last edition of FITUR, with Ghassan Aridi, advisor to the Sheikh of Dubai and the company Ruwaad, which represents Paramount in some businesses.

According to this information, now denied, Paramount Pictures would have chosen Murcia to install its European headquarters in the coming years, developing a large theme park (similar to those it has in the US, Hong Kong and South Africa - the latter under construction) and film studios that will become the operations center for all the films that Paramount made on the European continent.
