Facebook would be moving to start producing content. As published this Sunday by The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the social network led by Mark Zuckerberg would be immersed in conversations with different Hollywood studios in order to produce entertainment content with durations between ten and thirty minutes aimed at an audience between 13 and 34 years old.

Before starting the distribution of self-produced content, Facebook has already “broadcast” the series Strangers, aimed at millennials and which received excellent reviews at the last independent Sundance festival, and the reality Last State Standing.

The economic newspaper anticipates that Facebook would be ready to start broadcasting its own content at the end of the summer, distributing it in a traditional way chapter by chapter, unlike platforms such as Netflix or Amazon that are betting on making complete seasons available to their audience from the first chapter.

Facebook could invest up to $3 million for exclusive content. At the moment, according to WSJ, the network has already closed agreements with production companies such as BuzzFeed, ATTN and Refinery 29.
