Keyboard, video and mouse extension up to ninety meters

Gefen launches two new solutions for KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) extension in broadcast and post-production environments. The CAT5-1600HD and CAT5-5600HD allow you to expand high-resolution displays using DVI plus USB 2.0 peripherals from sixty to ninety meters away.

Gefen has set out to simplify cabling and increase the extension distance with a new method that replaces the two CAT-5/CAT-6 cables required until now in environments where machines are housed in one room and users in another several tens of meters away. With a single CAT-6a cable for high video resolution, Gefen's proposal allows you to carry any USB 2.0 peripheral to a distance of 91 meters, reaching DVI signals at 1920x1200 resolution up to 60 meters. The existing solutions until now reached 45 meters, so the possibilities of using Final Cut systems, ProTools and Avid editors in post-production and broadcast environments will be improved.

El CAT5-5600HD extiende dos pantallas con hasta cuatro periféricos utilizando un cable dedicado (CAT-5/CAT-6) para periféricos y dos cables CAT-6a para ambas pantallas, con un total de tres cables. Este modelo es más adecuado para profesionales que trabajen sobre un espacio digital donde las imagen se muestran en dos pantallas en la ubicación final.

Installation of each system takes just a few minutes, connecting computer cables directly to the sending unit, while work area devices, including remote display(s), keyboard, mouse, printer..., are connected directly to the receiving unit. The sender and receiver are linked by two or three cables, without any degradation or loss in the image.
