Sony HXR-MC50, simplicity of consumption meets professional functionality
Sony has introduced a new entry-level professional camcorder, the HXR-MC50, which combines the simplicity and manageability of a conventional consumer camcorder with the look and functionality of professional equipment.
Designed for video enthusiasts and professionals who want to enjoy the familiar features of video camcorders. Sony Professional, the HXR-MC50 is presented as an ultra-compact model perfect for all types of audiences, from students and freelance reporters, to professional video producers who need to record high-level corporate events.
In a low-cost product line, the HXR-MC50 leverages Sony's expertise in its range of professional camcorders by delivering outstanding image quality. It comes equipped with a lens hood, ECM shotgun microphone and a high-capacity battery (about 110 minutes), all adapted to the needs of the professional market.
It also includes a Sony G lens wide-angle lens with a 29.8mm focal length, improvements to the Steadyshot function for image stabilisation and an Exmor R CMOS sensor to deliver amazing sensitivity levels even in low-light conditions and all with AVCHD recording at 1920×1080 pixels/50i.
This model is very similar to the model aimed at the general public HDR-CX550 (the sensor, for example, is the same) although in this case, in addition to the accessories, it will have the main advantage for professionals that, as a professional range equipment, the MC50 will have a "Premium assistance" warranty for two years (from repair to warranty in five days) and a professional technical assistance line. It will be available in Europe next summer.
