Third edition of Animabasque-Business at Euskalduna
The Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao will host the third edition of Animabasque-Business on April 29. The meeting, organized by Eiken-Cluster Audiovisual de Euskadi and Barton Films, has established itself as an international springboard for animation projects carried out by Basque companies.
On April 29, the Euskalduna Palace in Bilbao will host the third edition of the Animabasque-Business market, an international forum on animation content that aims to support access to new markets for animation products developed by Basque companies, mainly films and television series.
The event will once again bring together prominent professionals and companies from the national and international level, who will have the opportunity to learn about the latest creations of Basque creatives. In this sense, the two previous editions of Animabasque-Business have hosted projects that have subsequently had a notable impact on the sector, such as Black to the Moon o Perez Mouse 2.
The initiative, organized by Eiken in collaboration with Barton Films, is part of the strategy of the Euskadi Audiovisual Cluster in favor of the international promotion of Basque creativity. Thus, through this meeting, which has the institutional support of the Department of Culture of the Basque Government, Eiken aims to consolidate the presence of Basque animation companies in an increasingly relevant market worldwide.
Basque projects
Throughout the morning, attendees at the III International Animation Market will have the opportunity to learn about ten new projects, of which five correspond to Basque companies: Somuga, Abra Producciones, Bitart New Media, Basque Films and Abrakham Studios. The rest of the companies participating in the market are: Xperimenta Planet (Madrid), Lince Studios (Barcelona), Extra Extremadura (Badajoz), BRB Internacional (Madrid), and Bryant Whittle (United Kingdom).
This III International Animation Market is held coinciding with the AnimaBasauri6-Animabasque animation festival. In this sense, the Bilbao event has a commercial vision, so that potential international clients and co-producers can learn about the projects in production or awaiting distribution. The ultimate objective is to facilitate agreements, co-productions and distributions abroad and promote the output of different works.
