Royal wedding in high definition
Princess Victoria of Sweden and businessman Daniel Westling will get married on June 19, with the royal ceremony covering three mobile units and a total of 60 Grasss Valley LDK 8000 cameras. All mobile units supplied to the broadcaster SVT by Mediatec will also be equipped with Kayenne XL mixers, Trinix matrices and various GeckoFlex modular equipment.
Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her fiancé, businessman Daniel Westling, will marry on June 19 at St. Nicholas Cathedral in Stockholm. The choice of that day is due to a long tradition within the Bernadotte dynasty: Victoria's parents, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia were married on June 19, 1976, and also Crown Prince Oscar, later Oscar I, and Josephine of Leuchtenberg did so on the same day, but in 1850.
The princes' wedding will be the first royal wedding in more than three decades in Sweden, which is why it has sparked great interest both in the country and in the rest of Europe. The ceremony will be attended by numerous international leaders and heads of state from around the world, with a guest list that will exceed a thousand people.
The Swedish broadcaster SVT will deploy three high-definition mobile units equipped with a total of sixty Grass Valley LDK 8000 Elite cameras to cover the royal ceremony. SVT will also rent a fourth mobile unit from Mediatec Broadcast Sweden to cover the festivities on the eve of the wedding. Grass Valley will also provide technical and logistical support to Mediatec during coverage of the ceremony.
All mobile units supplied to SVT by Mediatec will also be equipped with Kayenne XL mixers, Trinix matrices, and various GeckoFlex modular equipment.
