The channel of the Voz de Galicia Corporation, the community's first autonomous private capital television, can be tuned through DTT and the cable operator R. It will start with a prime time space in which the keys to its television offer will be reviewed: real-time information, large international productions, audiovisuals made in Galicia and new technologies.

V Televisión, the regional DTT of the Voz de Galicia Corporation, will begin its broadcasts next Sunday, May 30 and will do so with a special presentation program and with one of its great bets: the acclaimed American series The Wire, which will be broadcast openly for the first time in Spain.

The programming of the new channel, which will broadcast in Galician and Spanish and can be tuned through DTT and R, will start with a prime time space in which the keys to its television offer will be reviewed: real-time information, large international productions, audiovisuals made in Galicia and new technologies. This program will be followed by the broadcast of chapters 1 and 2 of the first season of The Wire, a production by the North American network HBO that is considered one of the best fictions made to date and that portrays in a realistic and very human way the fight against crime and corruption in the city of Baltimore.

The broadcast of this production, which has been acclaimed by the public and critics in the United States, will not be V Televisión's only collaboration with HBO. The Galician channel has partnered with this giant of the North American industry, owned by Time Warner, to broadcast fiction content during 2010 and 2011, an agreement similar to that reached with the also American Discovery Channel, which will offer some of the most outstanding documentaries of its thematic offering to V Television viewers.

After the kickoff on Sunday, on Monday 31 V Televisión will begin its daily activities on the air. At eight in the morning it will issue its first newsletter and, from then on, information will be one of the main features of its schedule. With the most advanced technological tools, the new Galician channel will offer hourly news bulletins, weather reports every 60 minutes and large spaces for analysis and debate, such as Vía V, a live program that will be broadcast from the central editorial office of La Voz de Galicia from Monday to Thursday and will be hosted by Fernanda Tabarés, journalist and deputy director of V Televisión.

In addition to collaborating with large international production companies, V Televisión will pay special attention to Galician audiovisual talent and, in fact, already works with ten production companies from the community. The birth of the regional channel of Corporación Voz has so far led to the creation of nearly 200 direct and indirect jobs and has opened new possibilities for an audiovisual market severely affected by the crisis and in which V Televisión wants to continue investing.
