Blackmagic UltraStudio Pro: full connectivity and greater freedom with USB 3.0

With an innovative design, Blackmagic Design has launched UltraStudio Pro, the first 10-bit uncompressed portable solution for USB 3.0 (4.8 Gbps) connection that offers real-time format conversion in SD and HD through a good number of video and audio inputs and outputs such as 3 Gbps SDI, HDMI, analog components, composite, S-Video, 4 channels of analog audio, 3 AES/EBU audio, scaler by hardware up/down/cross, genlock/tri-sync and RS422 control connections.

With an innovative design, the new UltraStudio Pro allows cables to be hidden behind the unit itself despite offering dozens of audio and video connections. Among other advantages, it includes level meters to ensure audio level adjustment and a two-meter multi-connector cable that allows broadcast-quality signals to be distributed without having to purchase expensive additional wiring.

Note, on the other hand, that it includes an independent SDI output that ensures downward conversion for simultaneous HD and SD monitoring. Its up, down and cross conversion hardware allows, for example, editing in one format, and then outputting in any other in both SD and HD 720/1080, reserving the CPU dedicated to real-time effects. It also allows you to choose between different aspect ratios: letterbox, 16:9 anamorphic and pillar-box.

Finally, note that it includes SDK for developers and Media Express software for real-time capture and media playback. It is compatible, among other solutions, with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Fusion and Photoshop.
