Telecinco has invoiced 442.51 million euros of total gross advertising revenue during the first half of 2010, of which 423.27 million euros correspond to television advertising revenue from Telecinco, LaSiete and Factoría de Ficción, a figure that maintains Publiespaña as the leading company in the advertising market in Spain. For its part, Publimedia Gestión, in charge of marketing advertising to third parties, as well as Telecinco.es, has obtained gross income of 19.24 million euros.
Net advertising income stood at 422.04 million euros, while total net income - which includes television advertising billing, in addition to advertising income from other media marketed by Grupo Publiespaña (Internet, teletext, thematic and digital channels) and those obtained by the commercial area (merchandising, sale of rights, SMS, etc.) - amounted to 461.02 million euros.
With regard to costs, in the first part of 2010 Telecinco has increased its total operating costs to 314.74 million euros (compared to 226.88 in the first half of 2009), which represents an increase of 38.7% compared to 2009, associated with the provision of the new 3% tax on income to finance TVE, the higher cost of sales associated with cinema and the comparison base of 2009 impacted by the reversal of certain provisions.
As a result, Telecinco has achieved an adjusted EBITDA of 151.04 million euros (32.8% margin on net income) and an EBIT of 146.28 million (31.7% on net income).
