Ross Video has updated the design of the configuration tools for governing equipment and accessories based on the OpenGear standard. The new tools provide intuitive 'drag and grop' interfaces with product descriptions, block diagrams and input/output images that make it easier for the operator to configure the systems on the chassis.

Eric Goodmurphy, product marketing director of the RossGear series at Ross Video, highlighted "that these tools allow our customers to easily configure their needs online, simply by dragging and dropping the modules that are available in the slots. A PDF file is created with each frame configuration, offering an intuitive image of the input and output modules as well as a summary of all the products and accessories selected in the chassis."

All configurations can either be sent to run or saved for quick modifications.

OpenGear technology was developed by Ross Video as an open standard for all types of rackable audio and video converter modules and signal processors for broadcast use. OpenGear uses a two-unit high rack chassis with capacity for 10 cards, and up to 20 if using single cards with a double-density chassis.
