MOG and Avid announced this Thursday a strategic alliance aimed at offering fully integrated end-to-end hardware and software in the areas of ingest, directorial recording solutions and post-production environments.
Under this agreement, the MXFSpeedrail solution will be included in the systems developed by Avid, completing its offering of ingest solutions and offering greater value to customers.
The flexibility and efficiency in meta management of MXF solutions are, in the opinion of the Portuguese company, the perfect complement for Avid systems. While the F1000 MXFSpeedrail easily ingests file-based material from anywhere on any shared storage solution, the S1000 is capable of recording SDI video from multiple video channels and outputting a multiplicity of high-resolution video formats along with metadata and localizers.
Both systems work with both SD and HD workflows and allow metadata to be integrated across Avid's entire production chain, from planning to distribution. Additionally, “edit as you type” technology allows editors to start working before ingesting material is complete, regardless of the video format or workflow if video editors are interconnected under Interplay.
Avid's multi-resolution features will also be enhanced with MXFSpeedrail, improving efficiency in ingesting and capturing proxy video material. As for offline editing, it is equally simple since after the editors have finished editing the proxies, the F1000 MXFSpeedrail can ingest only the necessary material in high quality, minimizing processes and improving speed.
Finally, the efficient integration with Avid Interplay and the easy local or web control and configuration of the MXFSpeedrail graphical user interface will make it even more pleasant to work anywhere on the network.
This alliance is the result of several years of collaboration between both companies and clearly demonstrates how MOG MXF technology and its ingest products can enhance Avid solutions in tape-free infrastructures for both SD and HD environments.
