In collaboration with SIS Live, Camera Corps provided original shots from its special camera systems during the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi which closed last week. A wide range of equipment, including remote heads, tracking systems and compact Q-Ball robotics, made it possible to achieve images from unusual angles.

Both the opening and closing ceremonies, held in the huge Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium and broadcast to a global audience of three billion viewers, and all competitions are being covered in their entirety in 1080i high definition.

The atmospheric conditions have been a challenge for the Camera Corps and SIS Live team as the monsoon rain and continued humidity of more than 80% made it difficult to place the cameras in truly inaccessible positions.

The Commonwealth Games were first held in 1930 as the British Empire Games, in Hamilton, Canada. Since then they have been held in London (1934), Sydney (1938), Auckland (1950), and have been held every four years since then. After Delhi, Glasgow will be the city that will host them in 2014.
