Among the Camera Corps innovations debuting at IBC are the Qx PTZF robotic camera head, the Qx Mini Zoom compact remote camera, the DMR (Dual Mini Remote) mount, and the SMPTE 4K MAX 5 x 3G fiber transport system.

Camera Corps Qx

Camera Corps will exhibit its latest developments in IBC 2018. These innovations include the next-generation Qx PTZF robotic camera head, the compact Qx Mini Zoom remote camera, the DMR (Dual Mini Remote) camera mount, and the SMPTE 4K MAX 5 x 3G fiber signal transport system.

Qx head

As for the new Qx is a compact head with integrated pan/tilt/zoom/focus movement. Delivering high video quality, it offers the freedom to cut and mix with camera video sources in a small studio or mobile unit. With a black finish and just 125mm in diameter, the Qx is discreet enough to work with other cameras, whether for studio productions or obstetricians' live event coverage. It can also be used as part of the commentator's camera setup.

It incorporates a 1/3 inch Full HD CMOS sensor High specification offering 1080p60, 1080p50, 1080i and 720p. The camera comes complete with a built-in 18x zoom lens, auto exposure, auto white balance, color correction, edge enhancement, noise reduction and gamma control.

They are genlock allows easy synchronization with other teams. New capabilities include 3D noise reduction and shading correction. A shutter is incorporated with a speed range of 1/4 to 1/8,000 seconds. The image sensitivity is F5.6 at 2000 lux. The minimum illumination level at F1.6 is 1.5 lux. Enhanced IR capability enables live video capture in zero visible light conditions using infrared illumination.

The Qx features a fully motorized drive that provides smooth mid-air control of pan, tilt, zoom and focus. They can be Manage up to 96 Qx heads from a single joystick panel. The high-precision motor system allows remote operators to match the precise acceleration and deceleration of much larger robotic heads when tracking moving performers in the air. The rotation speed is adjustable from 4 seconds to 90 ultra-slow minutes per 360-degree cycle with no restriction on the number of horizontal rotations.

Fully compatible with all existing Camera Corps control systems, the Qx can be equipped with a single cable for power, control signals, video and audio. Control can be performed live or pre-programmed by the operator. Combining the Qx with Camera Corps fiber optic transport devices, such as the SMPTE 4K MAX, allows for safe operation at distances up to 8 km.

Camera Corps Qx Mini Zoom

Qx Mini Zoom

He Qx Mini Zoom is a fixed head variant of the Qx. Housed in a compact metal housing, it offers producers the ability to track from wide to narrow angles along a predetermined line of sight in applications where pan and tilt functions are not required. All other parameters are essentially identical to Qx.

Camera Corps DMR

Dual Mini Remote Head

Available for rent, the new DMR (Dual Mini Remote) head It is a completely remote controlled camera mount with a wide range of applications. Designed primarily for slow motion systems in soccer replays behind the goal.

The challenge for Camera Corps' in-house design team was to build a system that would allow live control of fluid sweep sequences and could be used virtually anywhere. Horizontal and vertical movement is performed with ultra-smooth precision, including gradual acceleration and deceleration. Remote zoom and focus control are also available for cameras that support that feature.

Based on a dual-drive configuration, the DMR allows motorized control of the lateral (and optionally vertical) angle of a counterbalanced carbon fiber support arm. The arm itself can be up to 3 meters in length. An additional fully independent drive controls the pan and tilt angles of the camera.

The DMR is fully compatible with Camera Corps remote control panels as well as long-range connection equipment such as the SMPTE 4K MAX. It is quick and easy to set up and also provides the freedom to make powerful adjustments to the camera position after initial installation. If necessary, the DMR can also be used for circular sweep type tracking shots, as the arm can be rotated around the base axis. The entire system has a low visibility profile to avoid interfering with the vision of other cameras.

The Camera Corps DMR head is fully weather resistant, eliminating the need for the camera operator to be exposed to all elements of the weather. It is compatible with HD/4K mini cameras, including high frame rate models.

Finally, note the incorporation in its rental range of a compact system for remote transport of fiber signals with five 3G feeds to support 4K applications, super slow motion and signals over long distances.
