Utah incorporates advanced Mindspeed technology
Utah Scientific has become the first manufacturer to incorporate Mindspeed Technologies technology in its new matrices. The UTAH-400 288R matrix will thus incorporate Mindspeed technology that in a single piece replaces the four interconnected 144x144 crosspoint chips that were previously required to create a 288x288 matrix.
Utah Scientific has become the first manufacturer to incorporate Mindspeed Technologies technology in its new matrices. The UTAH-400 288R matrix will thus incorporate Mindspeed M21170 crosspoint technology.
The M21170 Mindspeed replaces in one piece the four interconnected 144x144 crosspoint chips previously required to create a 288x288 matrix. The use of the M21170 will thus simplify the design of the router, resulting in a system that consumes less energy, generating less heat, and with greater reliability.
Tom Harmon, president and CEO of Utah Scientific, noted that "like Utah Scientific, Mindspeed Technologies is a technology leader, pioneering the development of highly advanced crossover points. With the Mindspeed system, our UTAH-400 288R becomes even more space and power efficient, offering our customers more value."
Expandable from 8x8 to 1152x1152 and beyond, the Utah-400 array series has been designed to address the growing demand for large switching systems. Features include a wide selection of sizes for all signal types: a full range of input and output options including 3Gbps, analog, and fiber; Optional crosspoint redundancy on all array sizes, redundant power supplies and control cards, and signal presence detection.
