CET Universe will use its turnkey field editing system, Remote Station, for the live webcast of the Latin Grammys that will take place next November 11 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Univision Network will be in charge of distributing this event between 8–11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central).

The Remote Station system provides high capabilities for video compression and editing for live webcast distribution. The entire ceremony will be captured in P2 format with cameras Panasonic. The entire solution is housed in an Anvil-type road-case designed and configured by the director of CET Universe himself, Natham Adams. Each booth includes an Apple Mac Pro with Final Cut Pro Studio 3, as well as advanced compression software for faster-than-real-time compression and encoding.

The Remote Station platform has been designed for use in very small rooms such as a mobile production unit or a hotel room, for example.

Nathan Adams, director of business development at CET Universe, noted that “situations like the Latin Grammys are an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how Remote Station is a solid multi-platform programming distribution solution, offering production teams all the advantages of a complete post-production facility.”
