Spectacular visual wall in the new Antena 3 news

One of the most visible changes in the new Antena 3 Noticias news programs, released this week, is the abandonment of the traditional frontal shot of the presenter to allow greater possibilities when telling the news. This technique provides greater mobility and dynamism to the presenter so that he can not only give the news, but also bring it closer and analyze it to the viewer with the majority of available elements.

With a production system unprecedented in Spain, the new set, on which work has been going on since last summer, occupies an area of ​​1,200 square meters and provides greater versatility.

Christie Entero LED

Additionally, red, green and blue LEDs can be sequenced at higher rates than a mechanical color wheel, keeping any visible artifacts to a minimum.

Christie Entero LED projection units feature Christie LiteLOC and Christie ColorLOC technologies for automatic, independent brightness and color management. They also feature Christie ArrayLOC, an innovative technology that automatically matches color and brightness levels for each cube, across the entire screen, continuously. The result is the perfect control room solution for video walls of any size, without the need for constant maintenance or adjustments that affect operation and result in unproductive downtime.

The images that feed this visual wall are processed from a Christie Vista Spyder X20-1608 processor. The Spyder X20 includes the integrated source monitoring and matrix switching functionality of the Christie Vista URS. It also includes all of the existing Vista Spyder features, such as sophisticated presentation capabilities and an intuitive, easy-to-use interface that appeals to both experienced users and new customers.

The 20 megapixel bandwidth is a new feature in the Spyder family supporting blending, multiple windows, mixing and scaling in any source format and signal routing.

The Spyder X20's unique architecture supports a resolution and video format independent environment. This means that multiple displays (both widescreen and regular screen) can be combined to generate enhanced resolution beyond what any single display can support.

The Spyder X20-1608 offers 16 inputs and 8 outputs. Either output can be rotated to display portrait images. Other common features include universal input/output capability and built-in conversion for analog/digital, interlaced/progressive, resolution, aspect ratio and frame rate. This solution benefits from advanced auto-sync live preview capabilities, as well as integrated source monitoring and online editing.

The presenter relies on this 'window to the world' to tell the news, list summaries, present data and graphs or make way for closer connections with reporters and correspondents.

In an unprecedented way in Spain, the new Antena 3 set incorporates elements such as a steady cam and a polecam, which add to the already usual hot head. In total, seven cameras on set.

The steady cam allows greater movement on the set, since, compared to the fixed shot, this device allows 360º mobility and, consequently, can move around the newsroom to offer multiple shots. Likewise, the polecam enables complete mobility and increases the quality and value of television production, since, among other functions, it allows you to go from the general to the particular and vice versa (for example, from an editor's annotation to the presenter's table plan).

The lighting has been carried out exclusively with LED and fluorescent, achieving greater luminosity and energy savings.
