Bayona Rueda in Madrid and in the Great Water Tank of the City of Light ‘The impossible’

After more than four months of filming in Thailand the Spanish production ‘The impossible’, directed by J. A. Bayona, produced by Telecinco Cinema and Apaches Entertainment and starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, moves to Spain to shoot in Madrid and Alicante. The production will recreate in its water tank and with the help of Magicon (‘The pianist’, ‘10 .000 BC ’…) the wave that ravaged Thailand's coast in 2004.

After more than four months of filming in Thailand Spanish production The impossible, directed by J. A. Bayona (The orphanage), produced by Telecinco Cinema and Apaches Entertainment and starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor, moves to Spain to shoot in Madrid and Alicante.

The filming of The impossible It began last August in the studies of the City of Luz (Alicante). After four months of work in some of the areas most punished by the Tsunami that devastated Thailand, a Spanish and European team, of more than 120 people, has returned to Madrid with the main members of the cast in that, in addition to Watts and McGregor, the young Tom Holland participates, who debuts on the big screen after giving life to Billy Elliot in the London scenarios.

Bayona has commented that “it has been a hard filming, where the team has fought in exceptional conditions to carry out a challenge that looked like anything we had done before. I have the feeling of returning from Thailand having shot not my second film, but the third and the fourth at the same time. We have approached the tragedy always with respect but directly, almost to the point that we all return to The experience ”.

Once the filming in Madrid is finished, the production will return to the studies of the City of Light in Alicante in whose water tank the wave that ravaged the coast of Thailand in 2004 will be recreated in 2004. The Magicon company (the pianist ’, ‘10 .000 B.C.’) will be in charge of the design and construction of the models.

Summit Entertainment will distribute the film in the United States. Warner Bros Pictures Intl. Will do it in Spain.
