After more than four months of filming in Thailand, the Spanish production Impossible, directed by J. A. Bayona (The orphanage), producida por Telecinco Cinema y Apaches Entertainment y protagonizada por Naomi Watts y Ewan McGregror, se traslada a España para rodar en Madrid y Alicante.

The filming of Impossible It began last August at the La Ciudad de la Luz Studios (Alicante). After four months of work in some of the areas hardest hit by the tsunami that devastated Thailand, a Spanish and European team of more than 120 people has returned to Madrid along with the main members of the cast, which, in addition to Watts and McGregor, includes the young Tom Holland, who makes his big screen debut after giving life to Billy Elliot on the London stage.

Bayona has commented that "it has been a tough shoot, where the team has fought in exceptional conditions to carry out a challenge that was unlike anything we had done before. I have the feeling of returning from Thailand having filmed not my second film, but the third and fourth at the same time. We have always approached the tragedy with respect but in a direct way, almost point-blank, to such a point that we all return a little touched by the experience."

Once filming in Madrid has finished, the production will return to the City of Light Studios in Alicante in whose water tank the wave that devastated the coasts of Thailand in 2004 will be recreated. The company Magicon (El Pianista', '10,000 B.C.') will be in charge of the design and construction of the models.

Summit Entertainment will distribute the film in the United States. Warner Bros Pictures Intl. will do it in Spain.
