Digital+ and Astra launch Canal+ 3D Demo

Canal+ 3D Demo broadcasts free-to-air throughout Europe through the Astra 3B satellite in the orbital position 23.5º East. Specialized businesses and telecommunications installers will thus have a spectacular tool to show their clients this new technology. Astra already broadcasts seven commercial channels with 3D technology in Europe in addition to three Demo channels.

Digital+ and Astra have launched Canal+ 3D Demo, a new free-to-air broadcast channel throughout Europe that demonstrates a clear commitment to the generalization of 3D technology in homes.

The channel broadcasts content during business hours and is primarily oriented to the point of sale. In this way, specialized stores and telecommunications installers will be able to show their clients the virtues of 3D technology directly. Canal+ 3D Demo broadcasts a selection of spectacular images starring cinema, football, music or bullfighting.

Digital+ is a pioneer in Spain in the broadcast of 3D content through the Canal+ 3D events channel. From the first recording of a 3D concert, this time by Enrique Bunbury, through the success of the Spanish team in South Africa, the NBA, the San Isidro Fair or recently the Augusta Golf Masters, Canal+ 3D viewers have been able to enjoy the latest audiovisual innovations in their homes.

On the other hand, through Astra they broadcast seven commercial channels with 3D technology in Europe in addition to three Demo channels. After the consolidation of the HD standard (Astra has more than 210 high definition channels on its platforms, 21 of them in Spain through Digital+), one of the objectives of the satellite platform is to break the frontier of 3D, democratizing this technology by making it reach more viewers every day.
