I International Congress of Fiction on Television

Organized by the Scientific Dissemination Platform of the Complutense University of Madrid, under the direction of Professor Julio Antonio Sánchez Andrada, the 1st International Congress of Fiction on Television will take place from May 3 to 6, which aims to take a look at the phenomenon of series as a largely unexplored field of narrative.

The Faculty of Information Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid will host the First International Congress of Fiction on Television from May 3 to 6, which will have the support of Video IEC.

In recent decades, the cultural market is experiencing the great emergence of serialized television stories. It seems as if the small screen has finally found the masterful formula of its narrative coming of age in the field of fiction. And while chains struggle to find products capable of satisfying the tastes of an increasingly experienced and demanding public, the time for reflection is coming.

This First International Congress of Fiction on Television aims to look at the phenomenon of series as a largely unexplored field of narrative with the desire to discover and analyze the keys to a creative process where invention and repetition seem to overcome the inevitable conceptual paradox that their conjunction generates. From another perspective, the occasion seems propitious to also delve into the universe of relationships and values ​​that symbolic representations show and sustain.

Pero no se trata de un acercamiento estrictamente académico a la narración seriada. Junto a algunos de los mejores especialistas en la investigación narrativa audiovisual figurarán como invitados a participar en el debate los responsables de programación de las cadenas, los productores, los guionistas, los realizadores y, por supuesto, los intérpretes. Así podrá ser este congreso un fértil lugar de encuentro de dos experiencias fundamentales para entender plenamente el fenómeno de la narración seriada: la de los analistas universitarios y la de los creadores de las obras.
