Agreement La Claqueta (Spain) and SPi (Portugal)

The clapperboard (Spain) and SPi (Portugal) have reached an agreement to co-develop three fiction projects a year, as they have made public coinciding with the celebration of Conecta Fiction. Both producers had their first contact during the second edition of this meeting that is taking place these days in Pamplona.

This collaboration is important for both companies, which are already working on the development of the first projects of the agreement, in addition to looking for new ideas with international potential that can be produced by both countries.

In the same line of work together, both companies have signed the co-production of the animated documentary feature film The longest journey, a project that already has the support of the Portuguese public television, RTP, and the Spanish TVE and ETB.

"After 17 years of activity in the sector, La Claqueta has demonstrated its ability to co-produce fiction and documentaries both nationally and internationally. After several years producing documentary series, we believe that the time has come to make the leap to serial fiction. But we wanted to do it with an international partner of the stature of SPi, which has years of experience in said market. The synergy between both companies is very clear and we hope that this co-development agreement will soon yield very good results," he comments. Olmo Figueredo, CEO of La Claqueta PC.

"2019 has been SPi's starting year in international co-production, and this association with La Claqueta represents an extraordinary step in the consolidation of our activity in Spain, which also reinforces the internationalization strategy of our company. I am convinced that the documentary "The longest journey" is going to be a unique work of quality due to the topic it addresses and the team of professionals who work on it," he highlighted. José Amaral, Managing Director de SPi.

La Claqueta has fiction feature films pending release The infinite trench, by the trio of directors Arregi, Garaño and Goenaga, Bye, by Paco Cabezas, Parking by Tudor Giurgiu y The Drawback, by Bernabé Rico, as well as the documentary series The Miramar Murders and the fiction series On death row in which she has participated as an associate producer.
