The European Broadcasting Union has published a report on network and frequency planning for the transmission of terrestrial television services based on the DVB-T2 standard.

The organization, which represents European public service broadcasters, says its report is designed to be complementary information to the ETSI system specification (EN 302 755) and implementation guide (TS 102 831) and the corresponding DVB Blue Books (A122, A133).

In its report, the EBU reviews different aspects of the planning of the new DVB-T2 networks, as well as the possible frameworks for establishing frequency plans and a total of eight possible transition scenarios established in the GE06 Agreement including reception at home, mobile phones and other portable devices.

The EBU report also provides an interesting perspective on the DVB-T2 system, focusing on network planning parameters, the extension of SFN networks, MISO and Time-Frequency Slicing (TFS).
