Grupo Secuoya has presented its star project: the City of Tele. With an area of 20,000 m², this audiovisual complex that will begin construction in Tres Cantos (Madrid) aims to become the largest audiovisual center in Spain. It will have ten sets that will occupy 9,000 m² designed as flexible spaces.

This Tuesday, May 31, Grupo Secuoya presented its star project: the City of Tele. With an area of 20,000 m2, this audiovisual complex that will begin construction in Tres Cantos (Madrid) aims to become the largest audiovisual center in Spain.

An investment of 14 million euros and the creation of some 500 direct and indirect jobs give an idea of the dimension of a project that aims to break with the current production model based on disaggregated locations and obsolete equipment.

B&S, la filial del Grupo Secuoya, será la compañía que gestionará la Ciudad de la Tele aportando al proyecto la gestión de medios técnicos y recursos humanos para la producción de televisión.

The new complex will be structured around a singular building, closed on itself, which will reduce energy costs and optimize its use by reducing interior distances to the minimum possible. This building will have work spaces open to patios, with controlled temperatures to achieve high energy efficiency, thus giving an architectural response based on functionality, versatility and flexibility.

Ten sets

In total, the TV City will have ten sets that will occupy 9,000 m2 designed as flexible spaces.

A total of 4 studios of 1,500 m2, another 4 of 750 m2 and 2 of 500 m2 will make up the production area along with 4,000 m2 for common services and about 6,000 m2 for outdoor filming.

With this project, Grupo Secuoya aims to offer audiovisual companies the opportunity to participate in a profitable business without risk from the beginning, mitigating the risk of price volatility of dishes and technical means. In addition, it will allow the different productions underway to be concentrated and ensure production capacity in facilities and with quality means.

Presentation event

The presentation ceremony was attended by Salvador Victoria Bolívar, vice-counselor of the Vice-Presidency of the Community of Madrid; José Folgado Blanco, mayor of Tres Cantos; Eva Piera, Vice-Minister of Economy, Commerce and Consumer Affairs of the Community of Madrid; Aurelio García de Solá y Arriaga, president of Madrid Network; and Raúl Berdonés, president of Grupo Secuoya and promoter of the project.

Raúl Berdonés highlighted that "today we present one of the largest audiovisual production centers in Spain, a space developed to create, to dream and above all, to provide a material solution to the historical demands of production companies in terms of production spaces."

According to Berdonés, "this project represents the solution to the needs that the Community of Madrid has been demanding from production companies; the solution to the urgent need to have a center for creation; a comprehensive solution that ranges from the physical space itself adapted to the real production needs, to the services necessary for its execution; and all this so that the same agent can carry out their projects in the same center to take advantage of synergies between other works in development."

Berdonés has insisted on what the birth of the City of TV means for audiovisual production companies. “This project comes to the current audiovisual scenario with the aim of breaking with the current production model, characterized by disaggregated and, for the most part, poorly equipped locations,” he stated.
